Allogeneic mesenchymal stromal cells derived from subcutaneous adipose tissue collected by liposuction., The cells are isolated from the adipose tissue by enzymatic digestion and are expanded in a three- dimensional hydrogel matrix with scaffold structure.
The cells express cell surface markers CD105 and CD90 (≥95%), lack cell surface expression (<2% positive) of CD45, CD34, and do not express T cell co- stimulatory molecules CD40, CD80 or CD86 and major histocompatibility complex (MHC) class II (HLA-DR).
The cells also secrete various growth factors (e.g. insulin-like growth factor (IGF), hepatocyte growth factor (HGF) and vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF)) and express extracellular matrix proteins, in particular collagen type VII.
