sodium salt of a low molecular mass heparin obtained by depolymerization through periodate oxidation of heparin from porcine intestinal mucosa, followed by reduction and mild acid hydrolysis of the product; the majority of the components have a 2-amino2-deoxy-D-glucopyranose derivative structure at both ends of their chain, the one at the reducing end can be substituted with threonic acid or erythronic acid; the relative average molecular mass range is approximately 7,500 daltons with about 90% ranging between 2,000 and 15,000 daltons; the degree of sulfation is 2 to 2.5 per disaccharidic unit
